Career
Anupam Kher debuted as an actor in 1982 in a Hindi movie Aagman, followed by Saaransh (1984). He has played important roles in super hit movies like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Veer Zaara (2004), and much more. He is internationally famed due to his work in movies like, Bend It Like Beckham (2002), Bride and Prejudice (2004), Speedy Singhs (2011), and other international projects. He also co-starred in the Silver Linings Playbook (2012) which won the Academy Award. In his career of three and a half-decade, he has established himself as one of the greatest actors Bollywood has ever seen. He was recently seen in the Bollywood film One Day: Justice Delivered in which he played the role of a retired judge. In addition to the silver screen, he has also hosted various television shows such as Sawal 10 Crore Ka, and Say Na Something To Anupam Uncle among others.
He has served as the Chairman of the Indian Film Censor Board and as a Director of The National School Of Drama from 2001 to 2004. The super-talented actor has hosted several TV Shows such as Sawaal Dus Crore Ka, Lead India, and The Anupam Kher Show-Kuchh Bhi Ho Sakta Hai. He has been awarded the Padma Shree in 2004 and Padma Bhushan in 2016 by the Government of India for his contribution to arts and cinema.
